Learn by building

Learning that ends in something built.

Learners do more than watch lessons. They make things, test them and make them better.

  • Create a game
  • Program a robot
  • Build a website
  • Write Python
  • Explore AI
  • Practise digital skills
  • Build a digital portfolio

Hands-on learning

Understand technology by building with it.

Learners experiment, build, test and fix. Robotics is one of the ways they see how technology really works. It is not part of every programme.

  • Experiment
  • Build
  • Solve problems

How learning works

A clear path from first idea to finished project.

Illustration of a group of young people and an adult building a small wheeled robot together at a long table, with laptops showing block code.
  1. Learn

Clear, guided introductions to each new idea.

  2. Practice

Hands-on exercises that put the idea to work.

  3. Build

Small projects that bring the skills together.

  4. Receive feedback

Guidance on what works and how to improve it.

  5. Complete a project

A finished piece of work to show for the effort.

How long a programme runs, and how its classes are arranged, depends on the programme.

AI & digital skills

Learning that does not stop at school age.

The Academy is not only for children. Practical AI Skills and Microsoft Digital Skills are programmes for older learners and adults, starting in February 2027.

  • Older school learners
  • University students
  • Adults
  • Developing professionals
  • AI literacy and understanding what AI can and cannot do
  • Responsible use of AI tools
  • Prompting and practical AI workflows
  • Productivity and everyday digital skills
